Mack's Railfan Page
My days as a railfan began in the mid-seventies with my brothers in my home town of Wichita Falls, Texas. The town sat on the mainline of the Fort Worth & Denver (a BN subsidiary) and was served by a MKT (Katy) branch. Of course both companies are now gone. At that time several other regional roads still operated including the Rock Island, Mopac, and Frisco. Even though we could get our fill of mainline BN action on the FW&D, we developed an affinity for the Katy, Frisco, and Rock Island. Looking back, I wish we had covered more of these roads, taken more pictures, and been better photographers. Oh well...

I'm working to add more photos to my site from my railfanning days in the 70s and 80s, and update existing photos. Most additions are simply roster shots but I'll try to fill in info beyond date and place as my memory serves. I'm also increasing the sizes since nowadays most people probably have at least a 1024X768 monitor and high speed connections.

The background shot for this page is Quanah, Acme & Pacific #103 at Quanah, Texas in 1933. I'm too young to have seen much steam but I do possess a few nifty old prints. I'll include them periodically.
